Unit CombatWhen any weapons of two enemy units come in range of each other, they will automatically fire on each other. If a unit is attacked and is not in range to retaliate on the attacker it will automatically move to retaliate. If a unit's health drops below zero the unit is destroyed.
Structure CombatStructures are equipped with a special protective shield that can be activated to protect the structure from any attack. Because these special shields require a large amount of energy, the structure will be in a "Deactivated" mode while the shield is active. While the shield is active, the structure will automatically perform repairs and will drop the shield and reactivate when repairs are complete. In general larger structures will require more time to complete repairs.
While deactivated a structure will not perform at full capacity, and neither resource gathering structures nor production facilities will function. Reactors will operate at 90% of normal output while deactivated.
If a structure loses power due to reduced Reactor output or some other reason, it will be unable to sustain a protective shield and therefore be open to destruction.
